The owner was formerly the only mechanic at the local Honda dealer who had gone through the official Honda training (at Honda's training site). But he didn't like the way the dealer dealt with customers, so he left and opened his own place. His prices are a half to two-thirds that of the Honda dealer, and he (and his staff) are better mechanics and more friendly and courteous. They even give a 10% discount to any college students or staff when you show your ID, and also 10% discount to senior citizens. They discount the standard New York State inspection fee, and only charge about $15 for an oil change. The first time I brought my car to them, the owner's wife drove me to work since a bus wasn't due to come along for a while (the bus stop is right across the street from them).
