They repaired a dent in the back of my jeep to perfection. I also had it undercoated It wasn't cheap! The back repair was over a grand and the undercoat was $500.00. I'm happy with their work and will use them again.
These folks are really the best. Consistent quality and creative solutions to problems my aging cars have presented over several years. They screwed back the underbody sheet I dragged there after a Greek Peak Parking lot "alteration" for under $30.00. They also warranty their work. I recently damaged a new shock in a standard Ithaca pothole and they replaced it with no charge for parts or labor. There are two business here, the body shop and the general repair shop. This review is about the body shop. Mike went above and beyond to make me happy. He did several extra, useful things without charging me for them, came in under budget, and also did extra touch up paint without charging me and let me keep what was left. I last went a few years ago and was also very happy. We used to get work done by a friend who is a mechanic. That was a big mistake because he worked on his schedule, not ours. We also used to go to Walters in Groton. That dealership has gone down hill immensely in the last few years. All of the good mechanics and service manager have quit. I am not treated like an idiot when go into Autoworks. I have never had a better experience with an auto shop. The price they tell you out the door is the price you pay when you pick up your car no hidden fees. They treat my wife and I fairly and would never try to charge a woman more money. They really potray the family atomsphere and seem to have repeat customers. The shop manager Sean has always gotten my car in the same day and fixed it the next day. We drive a VW and a Honda and I feel the level of compentency with forgien vechiles is what really brings me back each and every time. I can safely say that I trust this shop with my car (that I put about 700 miles per week on) to do any sort of service. If you live in the Ithaca area and own a VW stop going to Bill CROOK and start saving money. If you own a Honda they have an ASE certified tech and specialize in Honda. I was a customer at the local Honda dealer but I was refeared by several clients. So I gave Autoworks a chance and I have never been happier with the quality of service, myself and now most of our family recieve at Autoworks! The owner was formerly the only mechanic at the local Honda dealer who had gone through the official Honda training (at Honda's training site). But he didn't like the way the dealer dealt with customers, so he left and opened his own place. His prices are a half to two-thirds that of the Honda dealer, and he (and his staff) are better mechanics and more friendly and courteous. They even give a 10% discount to any college students or staff when you show your ID, and also 10% discount to senior citizens. They discount the standard New York State inspection fee, and only charge about $15 for an oil change. The first time I brought my car to them, the owner's wife drove me to work since a bus wasn't due to come along for a while (the bus stop is right across the street from them).
